About Dr. Mike Mah
A board-certified integrative psychiatrist in Century City, treating adults across Los Angeles and California.
Michael Mahgerefteh, MD, known to his patients as Dr. Mike Mah, is a board-certified integrative psychiatrist based in Century City. His private, out-of-network practice serves adults across Los Angeles and California, with particular focus on anxiety, OCD, and mood disorders including depression and bipolar disorder. His broader general practice covers ADHD, PTSD, personality disorders, and related conditions. Other focused areas include social anxiety, self-esteem, and kratom dependence.
Approach
Dr. Mike Mah's approach is integrative. That means combining evidence-based medication and psychotherapy with attention to the day-to-day fundamentals that shape mental health: nutrition, sleep, exercise, and the ordinary stressors of daily life. It also means treating medication as a set of thoughtful decisions rather than a default. He is comfortable prescribing when it is clinically warranted, and equally comfortable helping patients safely reduce or discontinue medications when the plan should change.
The core belief behind this practice is that psychiatric care should be personalized to the person in front of him, not delivered as a one-size-fits-all protocol. In practice that means longer initial visits, thoughtful follow-ups, and treatment plans that reflect both clinical evidence and each patient's values and goals.

Century City Psychiatry & community
In addition to his private practice, Dr. Mike Mah is the founder and supervising psychiatrist of Century City Psychiatry, a growing multi-provider group practice that accepts most major insurance plans. Running both a private out-of-network practice and an insurance-based group practice under the same clinical standard has given him deep visibility into the Los Angeles mental health community. He maintains a strong network of trusted colleagues across the city: primary care physicians, specialists, and especially therapists. When appropriate, patients receive personalized therapist referrals matched to their specific needs. A hand-selected list, not a generic directory.

Training
Dr. Mike Mah's training reflects a deliberate breadth. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at UC Irvine, earned his MD at UCI School of Medicine, and completed psychiatry residency at UCLA. During residency he opted into a dual UCLA and West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs combined program in order to deepen his clinical training across patient populations. His rotations included the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, UCLA Olive View Medical Center, and the West LA Veterans Hospital, and he served as principal psychiatrist at Jewish Family Services of Los Angeles. This range across private practice, safety-net care, and veterans' care shaped how he thinks about mental health today.

Dr. Mike Mah is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
